The “Chrysanthos Color Wheel Teachers Manual” contains three lesson plans for teachers to use to teach students about the color wheel, color theory and about shapes.
Lesson I – Students learn how to mix primary colors to create secondary and tertiary colors. They use the colors they create to paint the Trigeod shapes and then create the color wheel.
Lesson II – Students are introduced to color theory including warm and cool colors, tints, tones and shades and color schemes. Each section is supported by internet based graphical and pictorial examples of concepts to reinforce learning. Discussion and assessment of understanding is performed at the end of section.
Lesson III – Students learn more about the Trigeod. They learn that this is an organic shape and use it to create 2D and 3D designs that resemble “biomorphs”. They also learn about other designs that can be created with the shape while discussing and interacting with each other in some of the design processes. At the end of the lesson, students are asked to create a 2D design on paper using the the color wheel and then color it in using one of the color schemes they have learned about previously.
